Activities: The Department of Bible, Religion,
and Philosophy offers many internship opportunities which
provide intensive practical experience in ministry and offer
a challenging opportunity to put classroom learning into practice.
Students may enrich their programs of study by cross-registering
for courses at Erskine Theological Seminary, located adjacent
to the Erskine College campus. Students may also enroll in
semester-long off-campus study programs and internships through
the programs of the Coalition of Christian Colleges and Universities.
Research and Honors: Faculty members have
research and practical expertise in the fields of Theology,
Church History and Historical Theology, Biblical Studies,
World Religions, Counseling, Church Ministry, and Philosophy.
They are active in scholarly organizations such as the Society
of Biblical Literature, the American Society of Church History,
the Evangelical Theological Society, the Calvin Colloquium,
and the Calvin Studies Society.
Placement of Recent Graduates
Recent graduate have gone on to attend graduate and professional
schools such as Erskine Theological Seminary, Reformed Theological
Seminary, Union Theological Seminary, Southern Baptist Theological
Seminary, and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Graduates
are employed as ministers, Directors of Christian Education,
counselors, and teachers.
