About Erskine Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry prepares students for graduate study in biochemistry and chemistry; for careers in the chemical industry, environmental science, and governmental laboratories; for entering the health professions, including medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy; for further study and careers in engineering fields; and for non-traditional careers such as industrial management, marketing, or law. Since an understanding of chemistry is essential in the study of other disciplines and for a proper understanding of the technological society in which we live, the department provides service courses for the basic curriculum and for other major areas of study. The department seeks to help students to communicate effectively, to reason abstractly, and to develop an understanding of the natural environment.

Programs of Study
