The Daniel Moultrie Science Center
Erskine chemistry occupies one floor of the new (1999) Daniel
Moultrie Science Center, a 50,000-square-foot facility that
also houses the Department of Biology and Physics, allowing
faculty and student interactions among the various sciences.
Highlights of the Chemistry area include:
• Teaching classrooms equipped with modern instructional
technology.
• Teaching labs with computer-interfaced sensors and
apparatus.
• A computer-based Science Mentoring
Networked Classroom.
Common areas include an auditorium, seminar rooms, student
study lounge, library, and computer workstations for analysis
and graphics work.
Though small, Erskine provides modern research and teaching
environments, including a Spectroscopy Lab, Chromatography
Lab, Biochemistry Lab, Electrochemistry Lab, Nuclear Magnetic
Resonance Lab, four Undergraduate Research Labs, and a Molecular
Modeling Lab. In addition to this, students have online access
to all ACS journals.
