Bible and Religion

Christian theology, the history of the Church, and the message of the Bible create a vibrant guide to contemporary life and thought. If you have ever thought about entering the ministry or becoming a Bible teacher, you might want to consider a major in Bible and Religion.
Majors in Bible and Religion take courses that encourage the discovery and discussion of the Bible alongside central issues of faith and ethics. Courses include Christian Tradition, the Old and New Testaments, Christianity and Culture, and Christian Education Methodology. Students develop skills in critical reading, critical reasoning, and communication.

There are two tracks within the major. The Biblical and Theological Studies track focuses on academic mastery of the Bible and theology. It is best for students planning to continue into seminary or graduate school, such as those planning to enter vocational ministry or academic careers.

The Christian Education track prepares students to teach Bible and religion in schools and churches.
