My goodness, we had a good time together at the reunion in April! Many thanks to everyone who took the time to come “Back to Due West” and join the best class around.

It was great to take a walk down memory lane, visit, laugh, catch up with each other’s activities during the last few years, laugh, hug, ask about old friends, shake hands, enjoy good food, and laugh some more!!!

Warm smiles could be seen everywhere as folks began to arrive in Anderson, which was a wonderful place to gather. Tucker’s Restaurant had some great food but the “it is so good to see you” atmosphere seemed to outshine the food. Wasn’t it fun to visit from table to table, share pictures, and just be together?!

The alumni meeting was good, followed by lunch in the ole dining hall. They did not serve “mystery meat” but a good southern summer fare of fried chicken and complimentary vegetables. It seems our area was good and loud as we gathered again and welcomed even more folks who came just for the day. Picture taking time was hilarious!!! We still can’t be still or quit talking, even for a snapshot! Isn’t it great that we are still “live wires”— full of interest and excitement?

Saturday evening was a night to remember. We all still look good when we get dressed up and go out for the evening. After a delicious meal ending with Death by Chocolate and a carrot cake to die for, we sat back for an evening of funny entertainment. Wyatt (IBM) McDaniel, Janet Blackwell Griffith and Johnny Kimmons had worked on a slide presentation of photos taken from the four yearbooks during the time that we were at Erskine. There were pictures of girls in big hair curlers, snapshots of the basketball team, even a photo of Ilene Douglas at the vending machine. (just to name a few) We had a ball laughing at ourselves all those years ago. My how time flies.

Although some of us have passed away from this life, we were all present that night. Even if you weren’t there physically, we knew that everyone in the Class of ’67 was thinking of the reunion and wishing they could be there. We missed you if you didn’t get to come and we love you if you were there. We hope that every one of you can be there for our “FANTABULOUS” Forty Fifth! See you in 2012!!!!

Many thanks to Janet Blackwell for this review and for all the help in gathering information for this 40th Reunion Web Site.
