We have moved again! When our house sold in May we had to get serious about finding a new home in Atlanta. We found an unfinished townhome in Vinings that had a completetion date in October. We returned to Hot Springs and made plans to move when the sale was complete in July.

We found an apartment in a private home on a 5 acre estate in Sandy Springs. It gave us an opportunity to oversee the completion of the townhome and get familiar with the Atlanta area again. It had been 41 years since we lived in an apartment. We had an extra bonus of having a "former bomb shelter" as our bedroom.

Our move to Atlanta is a chance for us to spend more time with our daughter Susan and her family Bill, Jared and Lucky (Granddog). We also have the extra bonus of spending more time with both of our brothers Jim and Phil and their families, who live in the Atlanta area.

Our grandson, Jared is 8 years old and is in third grade. He enjoys Baseball, his X-Box and the Playstation3 he has at our home. He also enjoys playing with all of his friends in his neighborhood. We had the pleasure of seeing him in all of his fall baseball games. He enjoys pitching and catching because of the action.

In February we accompanied Susan and Jared to Disney World to experience the parks. It had been too many years since our last visit. Welby said he rode 9 more roller coasters than he intended to experience. The things you do for your grandchildren. The rides were fast and thrilling but sometimes closing your eyes was the best way to experience them.

We traveled to Big Bend National Park, Texas in March. It is a high desert with many scenic spots on the western side. We spent two days at a lodge and walked a trail in the mountains. We saw signs warning of bears and mountain lions. We were happy we did not encounter any as we walked.
We are planning to travel more in 2009 once we get some order to our new home.
