Erskine Gets Victory at Homecoming

Fleet Defeats Piedmont 2-1

Due West, SC --Erskine College won its third straight game defeating Piedmont College 2-1 in men's soccer action at Homecoming.

Both teams fought hard throughout the first half and the score remained scoreless until Piedmont's Craig Richard scored off a Stuart Andrew assist.

Trailing 1-0 at half-time, the Fleet regrouped and scored when junior Rudy Rudder (Arima, Trinidad) took a corner kick and sophomore Trevor Tyler (Lake City, FL) tied up the game. The score remained tied until the 81:24 mark when senior Dhoud Samba (Houston, TX) scored his third game winner in as many games. The Erskine defense shut down Piedmont after the goal and held on for the victory.

Erskine improves to 4-7 overall, while Piedmont drops to 8-4.

The Fleet return to action on Thursday when they travel to Anderson College for a 7:00 game.
