Description:
The Coordinator for Residential Learning and Development is a full-time, live-on position that reports directly to the Dean of Students. In support of the Christian mission of the institution, the Coordinator promotes student learning on campus while enhancing the quality of life for undergraduate and graduate students in the residence halls.
Employment terms:
The Coordinator for Residential Learning is a 12-month, full time, live-on staff position with competitive salary, apartment, partial meal plan, professional development funds, and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the recruitment, training, supervision and evaluation of all undergraduate and graduate residence hall staff, including Resident Directors and Student Life Assistants.
- Formulate a programming model and expectations that focus on student learning and development in the residence halls.
- Administer the undergraduate and graduate residential life application, contract, and assignment processes.
- Assess students’ learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses and make appropriate recommendations and/or referrals to support services on campus.
- Develop and facilitate programs and workshops on academic success that teach undergraduate and graduate students how to apply generalized and/or discipline-specific strategies for mastering course content.
- Establish appropriate assessment programs based on empirical data for residence life and student success programs.
- Pursue grant opportunities to support undergraduate and graduate student success initiatives.
- Serve in on-call rotation for the Office of Student Services.
Qualifications:
- Embrace, support, and promote the Erskine mission statement;
- A bachelor’s degree and work experience in student services programs is required. A master’s degree in college student personnel, counseling or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Teaching or presentation experience and supervision experience are preferred.

Lifeguard

Description:
The Office of Student Services is seeking to fill the position of Lifeguard for summer 2013. Under general supervision, the person selected will ensure the safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.
2. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
3. Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service.
4. Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
5. Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.
6. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Embrace, support, and promote the Erskine mission statement;
- At least 6 months to 1 year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- CPR Certified; Current certification as Lifeguard by a recognized source of training.
