As a senior at Erskine, I can honestly say that coming here was one of the best decisions of my life. After going to two different high schools where attendance was over 2,500 students, I was looking for something different. Coming to Erskine provided me with a loving, nurturing, and encouraging community where I had the opportunity to grow. No longer was I just a face in the crowd or a number on a piece of paper, but I was a student and a peer who was cared for and loved.
From my first week on campus, Erskine has never been just a college. It’s been a community. I’ve enjoyed being able to get to know my professors both in and outside of the classroom. From sitting beside my professors in church, to being invited to their homes for meals, or just eating lunch with them in the dining hall, Erskine has provided an opportunity for relationships to be built. Not only have I created relationships with my professors, but also strong relationships with my peers. Erskine has provided me with friendships that I never imagined possible — friendships that I know will last long past graduation.
As I prepare to graduate, I think about my experience over the past three years and I can’t help but smile. Erskine has been an amazing experience. It’s been a time where my relationship with Christ has grown tremendously. I’ve been encouraged not only by my professors, but also by the administration and my peers. After being at Erskine and being in such a tight-knit community, a tight-knit family, I can’t imagine going anywhere else for my college career. Erskine has been such a blessing in my life and for that I’m very grateful.
