02.14.06 Erskine launches revamped Web site The Erskine Public Relations Office has announced the launch of a redesigned Erskine College Web site. "Our goal was to have a functional and dynamic Web site that was organized, informative, attractive and quick to load," said Director of Marketing and Publications Julie Miner. Miner said that in order to improve functionality and load time, the new site was created with the latest coding technology. Changes were also made with an eye toward improving the site's look and accessibility. "We developed an interface that would be appealing to prospective students, current students and alumni," she said. Essential to the building of the new site was the reworking of the data on the old one. "The old Web site had over 1,500 pages that had to be updated, condensed and reorganized," Miner explained. "We have had help from the Information Technology department, the Alumni Office and other individuals and departments on campus," she said. "This has really been a cooperative effort." Like the task of remodeling an old house, the job of upgrading the Web site will go on. "New features will continue to be added that will enhance and improve functionality," Miner said. The new Web site can be viewed at www.erskine.edu "Be sure to reload or refresh your browser so that you are viewing the most current version," Miner said. Questions or comments about the Web site can be directed to webmaster@erskine.edu |
