Education fair comes to Erskine campus

Erskine College and Lander University co-hosted an education fair on the Erskine campus today, with some 90 recruiters representing school districts in South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina on hand to conduct interviews with education majors.

In addition to spending several hours interviewing Erskine and Lander students, the recruiters attended a luncheon where they heard a few comments from several Erskine officials, including Associate Dean of Students Penny Thomas and Erskine College and Seminary President Dr. John Carson. Lander University officials also offered brief remarks.

Thomas organized this year's career fair at Erskine. Lander and Erskine annually co-host the event and alternate its location between the two campuses. She stressed the significance of the education fair as a longtime partnership between a private college and a public university.

The Erskine Chamber Singers provided entertainment at the luncheon.

Education fair participants had lunch in Bowie Arts Center.
