Gospel Choir performs spring concert before packed Bowie Chapel

The Erskine College Gospel Choir, directed by Jessica Ridgill, presented a spring concert Sunday, May 4, to a packed gathering in Bowie Chapel on the Erskine Seminary campus.

Refreshments and fellowship followed in the lobby of Bowie Divinity Hall.

Ridgill, head women's basketball coach at Erskine, succeeded founding director Tobe Frierson. Frierson, formerly assistant director of admissions, is an Erskine College graduate.

Along with the Gospel Choir singers, Sunday's concert featured Ridgill on the keyboard, T.J. Taylor on drums, and Eric Coleman on saxophone.

"I think Jessica has done a beautiful job with the choir her first year as director," said Gospel Choir President Jaharia Filmore, a senior. "We are happy to share our success with the Erskine family."

Other choir officers are senior Elizabeth Bishop, vice president; senior Rachel Connelly, secretary; and junior Jessica Kinard, treasurer.
