New faculty and staff members join Erskine community

A number of new faculty and staff members are joining the Erskine community this fall. Executive Vice President and Dean of the College Dr. Donald Weatherman and his wife Lynn hosted a picnic Thursday to introduce and welcome the newcomers, who joined current and retired faculty and staff members for a covered dish supper on the Weathermans' lawn.

New Erskine College faculty members include:

Michelle Bachand, Curriculum Director and Athletic Training Instructor

Robert Elsner, Associate Professor of Psychology
B.A., University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill; M.S., M.Ed., Ph.D., University of Georgia

Shannon Jeffreys, Visiting Assistant Professor of Music
B.M., Birmingham-Southern College; M.M., University of Mississippi;
D.M.A. Candidate, University of South Carolina

Dale Smith, Visiting Instructor of Special Education
B.A., Erskine College; M.A., University of South Carolina

Arthur Sparks, Visiting Professor of Mathematics
B.S. Ed., Georgia Southern College; M.A., University of Florida;
Ph.D., Clemson University 

Kandy Veneskey, Assistant Athletic Trainer and Athletic Training Instructor
B.S., Iowa State University; M.S., Indiana University

Adam Weyer, Head Athletic Trainer and Athletic Training Instructor
B.S., Erskine College; M.Ed., Auburn University

Erskine College is also welcoming several new staff members. Jennifer Cooley is working as an administrative assistant in the Student Services office. She has a B.B.A. from Anderson College. Matthew Dean, who received an A.B. degree from Erskine College is 2002, has joined the staff as an admissions counselor, as has Robert Wooley, who received an A.B. from Erskine College in 2004. Recent additions to the Facilities staff include Joseph Chadwick and Janet Saxon.
