Sandlapper singers to perform at Erskine Sept. 18 The Sandlapper Singers, a 25-voice professional choral ensemble founded in 1996, will perform at Erskine College Sept. 18 at 3 p.m. in Memorial Hall. Admission is free and the public is welcome. The repertoire of the Sandlapper Singers reflects America's diverse cultural heritage, and includes a variety of musical styles— spirituals, classical art music, folk songs, gospel, and pop. The Sandlapper Singers' concert series began in the fall of 1996 with three season concerts per year and has grown to a series of four concerts per year, each presented twice in the adjoining municipalities of Columbia and Lexington. The ensemble also performs by invitation throughout North and South Carolina at a variety of artist series including Piccolo Spoleto. |
