"War Bonds" Sept. 22 offers a window into World War II experience

The Erskine Fine Arts Series will present "War Bonds: The Songs and Letters of World War II" Monday, Sept. 22, at 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall. Admission is $5, free with Erskine I.D., and convocation credit will be given to students who attend.

Billed as "a musical journey through a war that redefined the world," the performance by David zum Brunnen and Serena Ebhardt includes 22 wartime songs, along with veterans' stories told through letters.

"War Bonds" has been filmed by UNC-TV, North Carolina's statewide public television station, to air as a companion piece to filmmaker Ken Burns' epic World War II documentary series "The War."
