Omicron Delta Kappa taps 14 for induction The Erskine College chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), the National Leadership Honor Society, tapped 14 new members Tuesday during convocation. Student inductees included seniors Jennifer Boyd, Bethy Miller, Sarabeth Shoger and Kathryn White, as well as juniors Daphne Gossage, Lindsay Hunt, Adam Lynn, Catherine Meggs, Anna Oates, Marshall Stein, and Lindsey Willis. Faculty and staff inductees were McDonald-Boswell Professor of History Dr. James W. Gettys Jr., former vice president and dean of the college; Jan B. Walker, instructor of art and director of the Bowie Arts Center; and Randy Moore, food services director. Founded at Washington and Lee University, ODK recognizes and encourages achievement in scholarship, athletics, campus and community service, social and religious activities, campus government, journalism, speech, and the creative and performing arts. Five indispensable qualifications for membership are exemplary character, responsible leadership, service in campus and community life, superior scholarship, genuine fellowship, and consecration to democratic ideals. |
