Erskine students perform at The Black Cow
by Davey Morgan

More than 40 Erskine students spent Friday night in fellowship with each other, enjoyed great music, and drank some coffee at a coffee shop in Honea Path.

Three Erskine students performed at The Black Cow. They were asked to perform by both workers of the Black Cow and Erskine students Joyce Lourenco and Meghan Graham.

Tyler Griffin played guitar and vocals, David Dorn played piano and sang, and  Kit Grier played guitar.

Dorn said of the opportunity to perform, "It was fun. After we got mics we were ready to rock."

The group performed an acoustical style of music, similar to that of John Mayer. They played Dave Matthews covers, a few John Mayer covers, some Desperado, and originals by Griffin.

Griffin, Dorn and Grier perform at other events at Erskine, such as Battle of the Bands and Open Mic. Night.

Two Erskine students were impressed by the outing.

Kayla Gurney said, "I had so much fun! It was really crowded with EC students, but that was what made it great. The music was wonderful and it was a good chance to get out of Due West for a little while."

Ashley Neely said, "The music played by the guys was incredible and it was just a fun night of fellowship with Erskine people."
