Baltimore Consort at Erskine College Oct. 3

The Baltimore Consort, an early music ensemble, will perform Monday, Oct. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall on the Erskine College campus. Admission is $5, free with Erskine I.D., and the public is invited to attend.  Convocation credit will be given to students.

The program, entitled "Cancionero! Romances, Villancicos and Improvisations of Spain, circa 1500," offers music from early 16th century Spain, with counter tenor Jose Lemos.

Specializing in the popular music of the 16th to 18th centuries, as well as traditional music rooted in earlier times, the Baltimore Consort has toured widely in the United States and abroad, and has performed for syndicated radio broadcasts on the BBC, CBC, Bavarian Radio, "Performance Today," and "St. Paul Sunday."

This event is part of the Erskine Fine Arts Series, presented on behalf of Erskine College as a service to the college and community.

For information, call Dr. Joan Little at 864-379-8849.
