Jerry Thacker, left, founder and president of Scepter Institute Inc., seems to have a lot in common with Job, the biblical character known for patience under adversity. Thacker, his wife Sue, and their baby daughter Sarah all contracted HIV in 1984 through a blood transfusion given to his wife following childbirth.
