10.08.04 "Big Man" contestants perform a dance for the audience Junior Jon Mize named Erskine "Big Man On Campus" The third annual "Big Man On Campus" contest at Erskine College Thursday night drew more than 20 entrants who displayed their talents in Moffatt Dining Hall. Junior Jon Mize of Spartanburg, representing the biology honor society Tri Beta, was chosen as this year's winner. Runners-up included seniors Terry McCoy of Honea Path and Mike Todd of Gastonia, N.C., and junior Bobby Lauman of Lawrenceville, Ga. Mackay Smith, last year's Big Man On Campus, served as Master of Ceremonies. Judges for the event were Vice President and Dean of the College Dr. Don Weatherman; Student Activities Director Brooke Clinton; and Younts Professor of Bible and Religion Dr. Bill Evans. The Big Man On Campus contest is one of several student activities scheduled this week in anticipation of Erskine's homecoming celebration Saturday.
