Seeing Stars

NOTES: Today is Monday, April 14, 1997... Two "superstars" grabbing attention this week are Masters Champion Tiger Woods and the Hale-Bopp comet... Just over an hour away from Due West and Erskine College, Tiger Woods made history at The Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Ga., winning one of the world's most premier championships in record fashion at the age of 21... Hale-Bopp, a little further away from Due West, has been visible in the night sky since February, but Dr. Bright Lowry has had his astronomy class tracking the large comet since September... Lowry calls the comet "spectacular" and said it will be fading out of sight as the moon gets brighter and will be gone by early May... "It's the best comet I've ever seen," Lowry said, "the students have been very impressed with it" ...
