College Bowie Arts Center Hosts Two Exhibits
The Bowie Arts Center, on the campus of Erskine
College, is currently displaying works by the
Greenwood Artists Guild and by students from the
South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and
Humanities. The the Artists Guild exhibit will remain
through June 15 and the Governor's School exhibit
will remain through May 31. Both exhibits are free
and the public is welcome.
The Greenwood Artists Guild has sponsored an
exhibit of work at the Bowie Arts Center for several
years, and offers a variety of works by area artists.
The South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts
and Humanities Traveling Student Art Exhibit is now
touring the state of South Carolina with 37 works by
29 visual arts students from across the state who
attended the Governor's School Honors Program in the
summer of 1999. The exhibit includes paintings,
drawings, computer graphics, collage and photographs
of three-dimensional work in wire, cardboard,
ceramics and wood. Local teachers are invited to
bring their classes to see the exhibit.
Normal hours of operation for the Bowie Arts
Center are Monday through Thursday, 1 p.m. to 4:30
p.m., Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and the first
Sunday of each month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. For
