Biology Down Under
Join
us as we explore the wonders of Australia. All majors welcome. The trip
is designed to appeal to anyone interested in learning about life in
Australia. Parents and friends of the college are also invited.
Highlights
of the trip include:
•
The Fabulous Fairy Penguins Tour
Stop at the Phillip Island Wildlife Park to meet some koalas and friendly
kangaroos and then witness the penguins make their way among the sand
dunes to their burrows.
•
The Savannah Walkabout
One day cultural and nature tour where you may see and learn about native
animals and plants both in the famous open-range grasslands of Serendip
Sanctuary on the Western Plains and in the bushlands of Brisbane Ranges
National. We search for kangaroos, koalas, and bird life and discover
a rich Aboriginal heritage.
•
Kangaroo Island Coast to Coast
See and visit natural bushland sanctuaries rich in wildlife, dramatic
coastlines, sea lion and fairy penguin colonies. Visits to the well
known Seal Bay, Remarkable Rocks, and Flinders Chase National Park are
also highlights of the tour.
•
Great Barrier Reef Tour
You will be transported to the reef where you will have plenty of time
to snorkel, dive, relax, and unwind with a maximum of only 30 other
passengers.
•
Wild World Zoo
This tropical zoo is home to hundreds of native and exotic species.
Many of the birds, mammals, and reptiles on display are indigenous to
tropical North Queensland.
•
Breakfast with the Kangaroos and Blue Mountains
The abundant bird life and resident kangaroos are most active early
in the morning. After breakfast with the kangaroos, the tour proceeds
to the upper Blue Mountains. The spectacular blue vista of the mountains
is introduced via a beautiful private garden.
