Erskine Announces Assistant Baseball Coach

Erskine College has announced that Barry Dean has been hired as the assistant baseball coach for the 2001 season.

Dean will assist Head Coach Kevin Nichols, entering his second year at Erskine.

Dean comes to Erskine after playing baseball at Auburn University in Montgomery, where he earned a bachelor's degree in education in 1990.

From 1991-93, Dean was an assistant coach at Troy State in Alabama while he earned a master's degree in physical education.

Dean then served as the Head Baseball coach at Wallace College in Dothan, Ala., then at Andrew College in 1997.

For the past three years he has been traveling with Major League Baseball International as the Executive Director of the Alabama Baseball Coaching Association.
