Lady Fleet Fall to Limestone Despite a quick start, the Erskine women's basketball team dropped their CVAC opener to Limestone, 82-67. The Fleet jumped out to a 22-6 lead before Limestone rallied late in the first half. The Saints came back to take a 46-40 halftime lead. Erskine fought back in the second half, cutting the Limestone margin to six points with 3:32 to play, The Fleet then had two possessions to trim the lead more but missed shots and subsequent fouling led to the final total. Freshman Shakela Fuller (Cross, SC) scored a career-high 27 points and hit 5 of 8 from the three point line. Junior Tasha James (Inman, SC) and senior Mandy Wyatt (Piedmont, SC) both added 11 points. Senior Becky McBroom (Columbia, SC) grabbed 10 rebounds. Freshman point guard Tiffany Mast (Stafford, VA) handed out 14 assists and is currently averaging 10 assists per game. "We played well early but our defense and turnovers let us down in the end. Shaq is going to be an excellent player and Tiffany's passing has been good for us. We can't do anything but try to keep getting better," remarked first year head coach Maggie Peeler. Erskine next plays Saturday at home versus CVAC foe Mt. Olive. Game time is 2 pm..
