Division I Charleston Southern Tops Erskine
NCAA Division I Charleston Southern rolled into Due West on Thursday night and left with a convincing 85-46 over the Fleet.
Charleston Southern simply had too much firepower for the Fleet as they cruised to a 48-18 halftime advantage. Erskine played much better in the second half mainly behind the shooting of senior Mandy Wyatt. Wyatt connected on 4 of 12 three-point attempts to lead the Fleet with 14 points.
Freshmen Shakela Fuller added 11 points. Senior Becky McBroom scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
"Clearly we were outmanned by them but we played hard and this was a good learning experience. Our program will be able to compete with teams like this in the near future," commented head coach Maggie Peeler.
The Fleet now take a break for exams and resume play on December 16th when they host Lander University at 5:30 pm.
