Baltimore Consort to Perform at Erskine College Dec. 5

Two performances by the Baltimore Consort on Dec. 5 will usher in the Christmas season at Erskine College this year.

The nationally known virtuoso ensemble will offer a full-length performance, "Wassail, Wassail! Music for the Yuletide Season" this Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. in Memorial Hall on the Erskine campus, as part of the Erskine Fine Arts Series. The program will include carols and dance tunes from the British Isles, France, Germany and Appalachia. Tickets may be purchased at the door for $5. Admission is free with Erskine I.D.

Specializing in the popular music of the 16th to 18th centuries, as well as traditional music rooted in earlier times, the Baltimore Consort has toured widely in the United States and abroad, and has performed for syndicated radio broadcasts on the BBC, CBC, Bavarian Radio, "Performance Today," and "St. Paul Sunday."

The Baltimore Consort will also present a special Christmas concert Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 11 a.m. in Lesesne Auditorium as part of the Erskine College Convocation Series. Admission is free and the public is welcome.
