Fall 2000 Chapel and Convocation Schedule

Fall 2000

Monitor the programs you attend. While it will not be official, it will provide you with a personal record of convo/chapel attendance. Unless otherwise noted, convocations will be each Tuesday and chapels will be held on Thursdays (both at 11:00 a.m.).

The convocation and chapel schedule for the fall semester will consist of twenty-eight morning and evening programs. Each student is required to accumulate seventeen credits of which two may be double convo credits as designated on the calendar (*). Special circumstances, i.e. practice teaching, externships, jobs and commuters will be dealt with on an individual basis by the Convocation Committee. It will be the responsibility of the student to submit a written request to Dean Agnew who will then present the request to the Convocation Committee. Each request should be in the Dean^Òs office no later than two weeks after registration. One day infirmary excuses are not valid for convocation credit.

Prior to each program ODK members will pass out attendance cards. Proper information should be printed on the card and then handed back at the exit following the program. There will be one card per student. Incorrect or inappropriate card information will result in the invalidation of credit. No cards will be issued after the program has begun. In order for credit to be given, the cards must be turned in at the end of each program; late cards will not be accepted.

The Office of Student Services will keep a record of accumulated convocation credits. Periodic checks are advisable. This information is available every Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Student Services Offices (379-8701). Any student who has accrued less than 17 credits by the end of the semester will be fined $15.00 for each program missed. All fines must be paid in the Business Office in Belk Hall in order to receive grades, enroll for the following semester, or to graduate.
