DUE WEST, SC - The Default Management Section of the United States Department of Education has informed Erskine College that the school's Fiscal Year 1994 Cohort Default Rate is 0.0 percent, meaning that no borrowers from this group are in default. The report sent to Erskine is based on information from the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS).
F. Ward Logan, Financial Aid Counselor for Erskine College, is pleased with the news from the Department of Education. "We owe it all to our borrowers," says Logan, referring to Erskine graduates who have handled their loans responsibly.
Erskine College is one among a group of only three schools in the state of South Carolina which showed a zero default rate for Fiscal Year 1994. Fiscal Year 1994 records apply for the most part to students who graduated in May 1993, Summer 1993, or December 1993.
Erskine is the oldest four-year church-related college in South Carolina. It was founded in 1839 by the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
