Erskine Freshmen Get Into "The Swing" Of Christmas With The Annual Door Decorating Contest

Carnegie's traditional Christmas Door Decorating had five different categories this year, according to Resident Director Ruth Burton. The categories are: "The Real Reason for the Season";"Christmas at Erskine"; "Santa's Coming to Town"; "Best Using a Christmas Music Theme," and "Best Using a Patriotic Theme."

First and second places were awarded in each of the categories. Judges May Hutchinson (honorary alumna) and John Blythe (Class of 1981), both of Abbeville, made difficult selections from many excellent entries.

"This contest, which has been a tradition in Carnegie for several years, is taken very seriously by those who participate," said Burton. "And it adds significantly to the spirit of Christmas."

In addition to categories which netted ribbons, prize winners included those judged Best Overall, Funniest, and Most Unique.
