New Faculty and Staff 2002 As Erskine College and Seminary prepare for the fall semester, five new College professors and two new Seminary professors have been appointed, and a number of new employees have joined the Erskine staff. Erskine Vice President and Dean of the College Dr. Donald Weatherman said he was pleased with the College's five new faculty members. "They were all our best choices for these positions," he said. "I am looking forward to working with them." Dr. R.J. Gore, Vice President and Dean of the Seminary, described newly appointed Assistant Professor of Theology Dr. Richard Burnett as "a true churchman, a leading voice in the Confessing Movement within the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. "Dr. Burnett is a highly qualified scholar who will make enormous contributions to the academy in the years to come, and he provides us with an authentic voice for reformed theology in the mainline Presbyterian tradition," said Gore. The Seminary's new Instructor in Christian Education, Jerdone Davis, who completed the Master of Arts in Christian Education at Erskine a few years ago, is writing her dissertation for a Doctor of Educaiton degree at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. "Her many years of hands-on experience in campus ministry at Clemson University make her a great asset to Erskine Seminary's approach to theological education," Gore said.
