| Erskine Selects "Big Man On Campus" The second annual "Big Man On Campus" contest at Erskine College Thursday night drew 16 entrants who paraded themselves and their talents before an enthusiastic audience in Moffatt Dining Hall. Sophomore Mackay Smith, a music and philosophy major from Gastonia, N.C., was named this year's winner. Juniors Tim Kinney of Lexington and Allen Taylor of Greenville were selected as first and second runners-up. Each contestant represented a class or campus organization and was escorted by a female student. Smith, representing the Mirror, Erskine's student newspaper, was escorted by Bethy Miller. Kinney, representing the service organization Rotoract, was escorted by Hedrick Patrick, and Taylor, representing Onward and Upward (OAU), Erskine's outdoor adventure club, was escorted by Bethany Roach. Jacob McMaster-Bigum, last year's Big Man On Campus, served as Master of Ceremonies. Judges for the event were Drs. Robin Agnew, Margaret Emery, Rachel Smith, Donald Weatherman and John Wingard. The Big Man On Campus contest is one of several student activities scheduled this week in anticipation of Erskine's homecoming celebration Saturday, culminating tonight with "Fleet-A-Rama," which will include mud-wrestling, games, a bonfire and a float-building contest.
