Erskine Gospel Choir

Alumni Chapter Meetings Begin

The fall series of Erskine Alumni Chapter Meetings has begun, with the Due West Chapter holding its meeting in the Founders Room of Moffatt Dining Hall Sept. 16.

Alumni Director Ralph Patterson invited the Erskine Gospel Choir, led by admissions counselor Tobé Frierson, Class of 2002, to perform at the meeting.

"Think back to your good days at Erskine College," said Patterson in a brief address to the group. "Whether it was a professor, a good friend, or a chaplain, someone made a
difference in your life.

"Thank that person if they are still around — imagine how good they will feel when you let them know what they have meant to you," he said. "And if they're not around, think about making a memorial gift in their name to Erskine."

Among other speakers at the chapter meeting was Steve Southwell, Class of 1980, who serves as president of the Flying Fleet Club. "At this point in my career it's exciting that I can give back a little bit to Erskine," he said. "The older I get the more I realize how much my four years at Erskine meant to me."
