The Rev. Robert Glick

Erskine Seminary Professor Featured On Pipedreams

The Rev. Robert Glick, Associate Professor of Church Music and Worship at Erskine Theological Seminary, will be a featured organist this Sunday, Sept. 7, on Pipedreams, a weekly radio series produced by Minnesota Public Radio and broadcast over stations of the Public Radio International Network. Glick said the show is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

The three pieces to be aired, taken from an organ dedication recital Glick gave at First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood, are Organ Sonata No. 1 in F, Op. 65, by Mendelssohn; "All Through the Night" by Dale Wood; and "Sing Praise to God" by Glick.

"Being on Pipedreams is the organist's version of being on the Tonight Show," said Glick. "That's how it feels."

Glick said he submitted a CD of the dedication recital to Pipedreams last year and found out only recently that some of the selections on his CD were to be used in the Sept. 7 program, entitled "Southern Comfort" and spotlighting organs in South Carolina, Florida and Virginia.

Glick has served as Minister of Music at First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood since 1990. The church's organ was built by the Goulding and Wood Pipe Organ Company.
