The exhibit depicts the daily activities of family members as they plant crops, feed animals, apply new technologies to ancient tasks, and cope with the vagaries of weather and government regulations. Sherer's photographs are supplemented with profiles written by Gery, creating a complex portrait of family farm life in an increasingly urbanized society.

The Bowie Arts Center is located on the campus of Erskine College on Bonner Street in Due West.
