Angi Paulus Paulus
To Publish Her Last Netnews Wednesday Next Wednesday May 29 will be the 400th issue of Erskine Netnews placed on-line by Erskine College Webmaster Angi Paulus. It will also be her last. Paulus, a 1993 Erskine graduate, is engaged to be married to Brian Reeves of Atlanta in September, and has accepted a new position in Atlanta beginning in June. She and Brian plan to live in Atlanta after the wedding. Since starting as Webmaster at Erskine on Aug. 16, 1999, Paulus has been part of the Erskine Public Relations team that has guided Netnews, the college and seminarys e-newsletter, from a weekly to a daily publication. Paulus has played a major role in Netnews winning regional and national awards the past two years, including the Grand Award for e-newsletters from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District III in 2001. Paulus has also managed Erskines award-winning web site, and was part of major redesign of the entire site that debuted in October 2000. Since then, Erskine has won several national and regional awards for its web site, including being named Best of Show by the Admissions Marketing Report in 2001. Paulus will oversee daily publication of Netnews today and Friday before the publication returns to its summer weekly schedule Wednesday. Friday, May 31, will be Pauluss last day at Erskine. "Angi has done a tremendous job, and has served her alma mater well," said Erskine College Public Relations Director Jason Peevy. "We will miss her outstanding talents, but just as much we will miss her personally. Angis creativity and gifts were a tremendous asset to our department, and we all wish her the best in her future endeavors." Peevy said Erskine will begin searching for a new Web Coordinator immediately. Candidates for the position should possess a high energy level, an understanding of and enthusiasm for the mission of Erskine College and Seminary, and a willingness to work with others. Duties include management of Erskines comprehensive site on the internet, publication of a daily electronic newsletter, photography, graphic design, and other public relations duties. Candidates should possess excellent written and oral communications skills, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, and a firm commitment to a task. Knowledge of HTML, Dreamweaver, Flash, and Photoshop is preferred. Occasional evening and weekend work is necessary.
