Erskine P.R. Reorganization Announced

Erskine College Chief Marketing Officer Steve Sniteman has announced a reorganization of Erskine's award-winning public relations team effective Sept. 1, 2003.

Julie Miner has been named Director of Marketing and Publications, Joyce Guyette has been promoted to Associate Director for News Services, Jennifer Pellin has been named Web and E-News Coordinator, and the department is currently seeking to fill the position of Campus News Coordinator.

Miner, Guyette and Pellin have been working as a team at Erskine since Pellin was hired as a graphic designer a year ago. Miner came to Erskine in 2001 and has served as a graphic designer and webmaster. Guyette came to Erskine in 1995, and began working in public relations in 1996 as a writer and editor.

Miner replaces former Public Relations Director Jason Peevy, who resigned earlier this month and accepted the position of Capital Campaign Communications Director at the University of Georgia. Peevy served as Public Relations Director at Erskine since 1994.

Miner, a 1996 Lander University graduate, is originally from Charlotte, N.C. Before coming to Erskine she worked on advertising and web page design for Emerald Internet Services and served as a marketing supervisor with Northland Cable Television in Greenwood.

Guyette, originally from Miami, Fla., is a 1976 graduate of Florida State University. She also holds a master's degree from Florida State.

Before coming to Erskine, Guyette was a freelance editor and proofreader, and also worked as a managing editor at Triple D Publishing in Shelby. N.C.

Pellin, a 2002 graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design, is a Greenwood native who came to Erskine after graduating from college. She was a four-year starter on the women's basketball team at SCAD.

Miner, Guyette, and Pellin were part of a team that won nine regional and national awards in 2003, the most ever in a year by the P.R. department. Since 2001, the P.R. office has won more than 20 awards for its new bureau, publications, electronic publications, web site, and advertising.
