Elaine McChesney

Freshman Profile: Elaine McChesney

One of the new faces on campus this upcoming Tuesday will be freshman Elaine McChesney.

McChesney, from Spartanburg, graduated in the spring from Dorman High School. While at Dorman, she was very active in extra-curricular activities, including honor society, journalism, and voice. In her free time, McChesney likes to hang out with her friends and volunteer.

McChesney did not spend a lot of time at home this summer, as she began the summer on a seven-state tour as part of a choir. The choir ministered and performed at prisons in the various states.

McChesney then attended a Presbyterian youth conference in Montreat, N.C., where she spent time at home as she taught Bible School at a local church for a week. Then it was back on the road again as she participated in a missions trip to Kentucky.

She finished the summer with a discipleship retreat with 300 high school students at White Oak Conference Center in South Carolina.

McChesney is excited about her move to Due West. She is most looking forward to meeting new people, and the rising freshman sees a wonderful opportunity to grow spiritually and to get involved in lots of different things at Erskine.
