Residence Hall Director Profile: Bryan Rush

Bryan Rush, Residence Hall Director (RD) at Kennedy, has served as an RD since 1998. He received his B.A. degree from Erskine in 1998 and works as an admissions counselor.

Rush is single and enjoys reading and racquetball. He says what attracted him to working at Erskine is his firm belief in "the importance of a Christian liberal arts college." What he likes most about the RD job is "getting to know the guys in the dorm" and says his greatest challenge is maintaining consistency.

Rush just may be among the most knowledgeable staff members on campus when it comes to understanding the student body. His admissions job brings him into close contact with prospective students who become incoming freshmen and transfer students, and his RD job means he gets to know the Kennedy men.

"For the most part, Erskine students are a very involved group," Rush says. "They work very hard both in and out of the classroom. Relationships are very important to EC students. They like to spend time with each other and with faculty and staff."
