Hamlet to be Performed in Lesesne Auditorium

The Shenandoah Shakespeare Express will present Shakespeare's Hamlet in a matinee performance at Erskine College Saturday, Sept. 25 at 3 p.m. in Lesesne Auditorium.

Committed “to Shakespeare's text and to the mission of connecting that text to modern audiences,” the work of the Shenandoah Shakespeare Express (SSE) has been described by the Washington Post as “shamelessly entertaining Shakespeare.”

The entertainment provided by SSE makes use of production practices common in Shakespeare's day, including universal lighting, in which actors can see and engage the audience; doubling, in which one actor can play several roles; simple sets; contemporary costuming; and a brisk pace, eliminating intermissions and ensuring a continuous flow of dramatic action.

Admission is $5.00 and the public is invited to attend. For further information, please call Dr. Joan Little at 864-379-8849.
