ERSKINE SIGNS TWO STANDOUTS TO MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM

DUE WEST, SC - Erskine College basketball announced the signing of two players for the upcoming season, Joseph Brice of Greenville and Kent Ledbetter of Seneca.

Ledbetter is the MVP of the Seneca team that went 18-6 this year and was runner-up in the region. Named All-Region and All-State this year, Ledbetter scored 16.8 points per game this year with 6.1 assists and 4.0 steals. He made a school record 64 three-pointers this year to go with his 190 career three pointers at Seneca.

He was named Outstanding Defensive Player his sophomore, junior and senior years starting all four of his high school years. He also played in the North-South All-Star Game this year.

"Kent is a perfect fit for us at Erskine," said Head Coach Ralph Patterson. "He is a great competitor and a great person. We are thrilled to have him in our program."

Greenville High School standout Brice, a 6-7, 220 pound forward, is the grandson of Joseph Wightman who served as president of Erskine College from 1966-73.

The 1996 graduate averaged 14 points and 8 rebounds his junior and senior seasons. He was named All-Region both years. After graduation Brice attended Fork Union (Vir.) Military Academy as a post-graduate and was a key performer on their 24-9 team this year.

"We are delighted to have Joseph in our program. We have been recruiting him a long time," Patterson said. "We are pleased to have a player of his caliber in our program and know he will have an immediate impact on the team."
