Lady Fleet Open With Loss, Ranked No. 7 in CVAC Preseason Poll

The Erskine College Lady Fleet soccer team opened its season with a 3-0 road loss to Presbyterian Tuesday. Presbyterian is ranked No. 8 nationally.

Erskine enters the season ranked No. 7 in the Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference preseason poll.

Belmont Abbey College, 1998 and 1999 CVAC regular season and tournament champions, is ranked No. 1 in the CVAC preseason poll

Longwood returns 13 veterans from a runner-up CVAC regular season finish and is ranked second.

Pfeiffer is third and rounding out the poll were: Queens, Lees-McRae, Barton, Erskine, Limestone, Coker, Anderson, Mt. Olive and St. Andrews.

The Lady Fleet travel to Limestone Saturday for a 1 pm game. Their home opener is Tuesday, against Milligan, at 4 pm.
