"N.A.S.A. Traveling Exhibit," BAC

This exhibit depicts a wide range of subjects, from Space Shuttle launches to virtual reality by artists including Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg and Jamie Wyeth.

8 pm "Opera Workshop Performance," M

A presentation of two short operas as part of the Winter Term Opera Workshop class. The productions, "The Lowland Sea" by Alec Wilder, and "A Hand of Bridge" by Samuel Barber and Gian-Carlo Menotti, will be fully staged, costumed, and accompanied by an instrumental ensemble.

8 pm "Peer Gynt," L

The National Theatre of the Deaf presents its 30th Anniversary Tour production of the Henrik Ibsen classic. Performed in Sign Language and spoken words, the play follows the life of Peer, who views the world as one big party and himself as the guest of honor. After Peer becomes shipwrecked literally and morally, his life starts to right itself. "Peer Gynt," said George Bernard Shaw,"is everybody's hero." Admission is $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for youths 18 and under.

The best of the area's student works will be presented in this annual exhibit.

This performance is sponsored by the Abbeville County Visitors Council in cooperation with the Erskine College Department of Art and Music. Admission is $10.

"W. Kim Linton," BAC

An exhibit of works by W. Kim Linton. Born in Seoul, Korea, she absorbed Korean traditions that later merged with the more abstract orientation of her graduate training in New York. The artist describes her painting as like "a whole roll of my life that I cut a little patch from in order to bring things into context." Kim-Linton's work has been displayed in galleries throughout the world.

Erskine's Younts Professor of Bible, Religion and Philosophy will entertain with storytelling.

8 pm "Courtship," L

The Erskine Players present their spring play, "Courtship" by Pulitzer Prize winning author Horton Foote. Foote won the Pulitzer Prize in 1995 for his play "The Young Man from Atlanta," and has been called a "Texas Chekov." The play revolves around two girls who battle with the decision to stay in their small town or leave for the big city.

Cols. Nancy and Jerry Jaax, whose work served as the basis for the hit movie "Outbreak," will discuss their experiences as the world's leading specialists on extremely infectious viruses and high-hazard biological research.

The work of medical illustrator George Bullock of the University of Georgia, a 1988 graduate of Erskine College, will be displayed at the Bowie Arts Center during the months of June, July and August.
