DUE WEST, S.C. - The Erskine College men's tennis team (19-7) qualified for the NCAA National Tournament Sunday with a 5-2 victory over Concordia College (N.Y.) in Kutztown, Penn.

The national tournament berth is Erskine's first in any sport since making the jump to NCAA Division II in the 1992-93 academic year.

Erskine began regional play Saturday with a 5-2 win over Millersville College (Penn.). The Flying Fleet advance to the national tournament in Springfield, Mo., May 8-11.

Erskine, led by Head Coach Vardon Cox and first-team all conference players Villy Iltchev, a senior, and Pratik Shrivastava, a freshman, finished the regular season with a 17-7 record, 11-2 in the Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference.

The Flying Fleet finished the season strong, with 12 wins in their last 13 matches, the only loss against Lees-McRae in the CVAC Tournament finals.
