Back
on the Air
Erskine College TV-19, Erskine College's cable
access TV channel, is back on the air, and the studio
has been moved from the Galloway Center to the Public
Relations Office in Belk Hall.
The station's move was made, according to Erskine
Public Relations Director Jason Peevy, so that
programming could be aired regularly, and the station
could be more accessible to the PR staff.
The station, on channel 19 for those who subscribe
to Due West cable through Helicon, is on the air 24
hours. Peevy said that a calendar of events and
activities are aired continuously, and those wishing
to submit items to be included should do so in
writing to Peevy's box in the Belk Hall mail room.
Erskine receives weekly programming from the
Methodist Church and from the Burly Bear Network, an
entertainment program aimed at college students.
Peevy said that local programming is also being
planned, with interviews from people in the Due West
community and Erskine College students, faculty and
staff.
Sporting events and other events will be aired on
TV-19 this year on a tape-delay basis. Certain events
can be heard live on the internet through Erskine's
web site at www.erskine.edu.
Check Channel 19 for a listing of upcoming
programming plans.
