Rusty Brooks of the Institute of Community and Area Development
(ICAD) at the University of Georgia spoke in the Founder's Room last
week when Erskine hosted the Upper Savannah River Economic Coalition (USREC)
meeting on its campus. USREC consists of community and development
leaders from the South Carolina and Georgia lakelands who have come
together to better promote activities in the area. Brooks talked to the
group about developing a calendar of events, and plans were made also to
construct a USREC web site, to be hosted on the Erskine server. The
group toured the Erskine campus, including a visit to the Bowie Arts
Center.
