Erskine Announces Release of Newest Viewbook Erskine College has announced the release of its latest college viewbook, a full-color recruitment publication featuring students, campus scenes and the mission of the institution. Admissions Director Jeff Craft said the admissions counselors in his office have already taken the viewbooks on the road to college fairs. "All the comments we have heard are that the viewbook is awesome," Craft said. "Even other schools have complimented us on them. They all want to know who did it for us." While many schools hire companies to produce their viewbooks, Erskine has continued to produce its version in-house. The Erskine viewbook is produced through a collaborative effort among the admissions office, marketing and public relations, the academic departments, and many others. "It's just another example of the kind of work that typifies Erskine," Craft said. "It is an honest and genuine piece. Yes, it's fancy, nice, and classy, but it also provides an excellent snapshot of what life is like at Erskine College." The Erskine viewbook is 24 pages, and includes two-page spreads on academics, relationships, traditions, technology, the college mission, memories, athletics, the arts, study abroad, missions, and value. "It's something you can look through in just a few minutes and get a good feel for what our campus is like," Craft said. Erskine senior Jenni Norris, who is featured on the arts pages, said, "I love being in the viewbook and think that seeing all those people in the book those real people is wonderful. Erskine has such a diverse group of students and faculty that I think we should show them off. "I think the viewbook is a beautiful publication," Norris said. "I love the quality of the book and the pictures. And I like being a part of the recruitment of other students to Erskine College because I have so enjoyed becoming a part of the Erskine family and it has really helped shape my future." Erskine senior Michael Johnson, who is on the memories pages, said, "The viewbook is very appealing and has some great input on academics and student life on and off campus." Craft said the students were a big part of the project, taking time from their schedules to work with photographers on two day-long photo shoots. "That's another example of the quality students that we have here," Craft said. "They like to see themselves, and their peers, in this book." Craft, who is an Erskine graduate, said the viewbook has had an impact in other areas outside of recruiting. "It's being used by virtually every office on campus," Craft said. "I think that as an alum, or for those interested in making gifts to the college, this is a great piece to share. You're really proud to have something like this to show to people." To receive a copy of the Erskine viewbook, contact the admissions office by phone at 1-800-241-8721, by email at admissions@erskine.edu or by writing to the college in Due West, SC, 29639.
