Wallace Assumes Two Board Positions Former Erskine trustee Cliff Wallace, a member of the Erskine Class of 1968, Managing Director of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), has been appointed to two prominent boards in Hong Kong. He now serves as Director and Vice Chairman of Ticketek Hong Kong Limited (THK) and serves New World Services Limited (NWS) as a Non-executive Director and Chairman of its Audit Committee, according to a recent media release from HKCEC.
THK is a newly launched joint venture between a consortium comprising members associated with three private public assembly venues in Hong Kong and Ticketek.com, Australia and New Zealands leading ticketing services company. The consortium consists of the HKCEC, the Society of the Academy for Performing Arts and the Hong Kong Arts Centre. THK offers an extensive choice of sales channels from which to purchase tickets to leisure and entertainment events in Hong Kong. THK uses the internet, agency and retail outlets, a call centre and venue box offices for its ticket sales. Bookings through self-service kiosks and WAP will be launched in March.
NWS is the parent company for over 25 service companies including HKCEC (Management) Ltd. (HML), the private management and operating company Wallace heads which is under a long-term contract to manage and operate the HKCEC. NWS is a company which embraces a diversified range of services.
Wallace has more than 30 years experience in the public assembly venue industry. Before joining the HKCEC in 1995 as its Managing Director, Wallace served in 1984-85 as consultant on the initial planning team for the HKCEC and in 1993-95 on the planning and architectural team for the HKCECs new Extension.
Wallace is a member of numerous international professional organizations in his representation of HKCEC. He is a board member of the Venue Management Association (Asia and Pacific) Limited and a member of its Board and Executive Committee. He is a past Chairman of the Asia Pacific Exhibition and Convention Council and currently serves on its Executive Committee. He is a past president of the International Association of Assembly Managers and served on its board for eight years.
Between
1975 and 1995, Wallace served as Director of the Von Braun Center (Huntsville,
Ala.), President and General Manager of the Lousiana Superdome (New Orleans,
La.), President of Leisure Management International (previously Houston,
Texas), and as a Division President of The Facility Group, Inc. (Atlanta,
Ga.). He has consulted and advised on the development, management, and
