Erskine
to Air Basketball Games on the Web
Erskine College has announced that audio from
select basketball games this season will be aired
live through the Erskine web site (HYPERLINK
http://www.erskine.edu), beginning with four games
prior to the Christmas holidays.
Through an agreement with Webradio.com, Erskine
airs the campus radio station live 24 hours a day on
the school web site. The first live out-of-studio
event to be broadcast on the web occurred in May when
Erskine aired Elizabeth Dole's graduation speech
through its web site.
Erskine basketball will debut on the web with a
doubleheader Tuesday, Nov. 23, when the Lady Fleet
host Presbyterian at 5:30 p.m. and the men host
Lenoir-Rhyne at 7:30 p.m.
Other scheduled broadcasts include the Erskine
men's game against UNC-Pembroke on Nov. 29 at 7 p.m.
and the Erskine women's game Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. against
St. Andrews.
A schedule for other games to be aired will be
released after Christmas.
Erskine Public Relations Director Jason Peevy said
Erskine staff members will announce the games, and
plans include for the broadcasts to feature
interviews with Erskine coaches and players.
Erskine Webmaster Angi Paulus said it will be easy
for listeners with PC computers to access the Erskine
games. No plug-ins or downloads are necessary, Paulus
said, and there will be links to the games from the
Erskine home page and the athletics page. Macintosh
users must access the page through Internet Explorer
and change preferences to read Microsoft java.
