Winter Term Begins
DUE WEST, S.C. According to the 1999 brochure, Winter Term at Erskine College, which began Jan. 4, combines traditional and innovative approaches to learning and is designed to provide opportunities for educational experiences not normally available in the fall and spring terms. As Winter Term begins, students and faculty return from the Christmas break ready for new challenges.
From religion to science and music to mathematics, Winter Term courses cater to a wide range of interests. How about an English course titled Black & White & Blues All Over?" Or a look at Cyber-aided Topics in Psychology?"
Then there are the tripsthis year one to Europe, one to the Holy Landthat expand experience and enable students to gain new perspectives on history, geography, archaelogy, and even sociology and religion.
Over the next several weeks, the Erskine College Netnews will take a closer look at some of the Winter Term offerings and the students and faculty committed to these courses. This week we talk with Dr. Bill Evans, Assistant Professor of Bible and Religion, who is leading a travel course called Discovering Israel.
